New in Forever

The undead paladin has never existed, neither in Classic nor on modern realms. Forever opens it after twenty-three years. A knight of Lordaeron raised by the Light: the name has to carry both the oath and the grave.

Naming tips

The Forsaken often keep the human name of their former life, with the gothic ring of Lordaeron (Cornelius, Rowena, Ermengarde) and a period English surname (Hatfield, Egerton, Coldwell). The other path takes a last name darkened by the grave, the plague, the shroud and shadow. For an undead paladin, that tension is the whole point of the name: the light on one side, the cold of the grave on the other.

Frequently asked questions

Before reservation day

Do WoW Forever characters really have a last name?

Yes. The official @Warcraft account confirmed it on September 13, 2026: a World of Warcraft: Forever character will bear a first name and a last name, a first since the game launched.

Are these names accepted in game?

First names follow the known rules: 2 to 12 letters, no digits or spaces. Last names are always generated as a single word, with no space or hyphen, which the game will reject.

When can I reserve my name?

Early name reservation runs from October 27 to November 3, 2026, ahead of the November 4 launch. Names are first come, first served: keep a few spares.

Reserving your name in WoW Forever
Are the Skyborne available?

Yes. Blizzard has not published any Skyborne names yet, so the generator follows the announced spirit: high elven elegance and the element of Air, with no plant vocabulary. We will adjust as soon as the beta shows some.

Can two players get the same name?

The generator composes thousands of combinations. The same set only comes back through the same shared link.

What is Realmless Azeroth?

Blizzard announced a Realmless Azeroth: each playstyle (PvP, PvE, Roleplay, and Hardcore later on) shares a version of the world. Keep a few spare names ready for reservation day.
